RADIATOR REBUILD & RECORE

Recoring (rebuild) the radiator is advisable when the core tubes and fins have been externally damaged or blocked from rust or other debris, or corroded beyond repair. A damaged core can restrict the engines coolant flow, cause leaking and severe overheating. Our service includes rebuilding the radiator, pressure testing and repainting the unit so it looks and functions like a new radiator.

RADIATOR REPAIRS

We repair all types of radiators using the rod out method. The process includes a full inspection and diagnostic test, a deep clean in caustic soda, and a full disassemble and removal of all scaling and blockages. The unit is then repaired and reassembled and pressure tested. It is then resprayed as the final step.

FUEL TANK DEEP CLEAN

We can clean all types of fuel and storage tanks. The tanks are thoroughly cleaned and bathed in a heated caustic soda solution. The advantages of using caustic soda is that its relatively quick acting, does not attack iron or steel base metal, does not leave a highly active surface and effectively removes grease, oils and protein based deposits from the tank

RADIATOR PRESSURE TEST

Our pressure test helps to identify leaks in the cooling system and to test the radiator cap. If left unchecked this can lead to a blown head gasket and serious engine damage

HEAD GASKET GAS TEST

A blown head gasket can cause severe overheating, a loss of power and lead to major mechanical failure if not attended to immediately. Our head gasket test extracts the air from inside the radiator to test for the presence of exhaust gases which will determine if the head gasket needs to be replaced.

RADIATOR & ENGINE FLUSH

To maintain the life of your radiator its important to flush the unit every 5 years or 150 000 km. This is especially important in older vehicles where the build up of rust and debris over time can adversely affect the performance of the unit. Flushing the tank with water alone will only partially help the problem. We provide a thorough chemical flush using sodium hydroxide to ensure all loose debris and corrosion are removed entirely.
